Whether you like Blake or not he's had some of his best games against Duke. If he did not foul out with 1:30 to play in the first meeting between these teams MD would have two wins against Duke. When he fouled out Jason Williams had 13 points and 10 turnovers. Jason Williams ended up with 26 points (a game won in over time) and had eight points in the last 40 seconds of regular play. I'm not sure what will happen this go around since Williams really picked up his intensity and has carried the team since Boozer was sidelined with the fractured foot.

An interesting aspect of first game with Duke is Duke had 42 chances from the charity strip and MD had 28.

Here is what I think has to happen for MD to win this game. MD has only one advantage going into the game and that is the ability to play 9-10 players and wear other teams down. If Duke gets a lot of foul calls going it's way then they will win. A lot of fouls means a lot of stoppages during the game allowing Duke to stay fresher. If there are not many fouls called than MD should be able to wear Duke down in the second half and should have a chance to win.

Duke is a great three point shooting team. Md will probably be down by at least 15 points at some point in the first half or early in the second half. How they react to that will determine if they have a chance of winning. If they start trying to match 3's they will lose big. If they force Duke to play defense on every possession they might get the opportunity to make it a close game.
