Okay, so no one's interested, I'll talk to myself.

I spoke with a bunch of Encore store managers, and they said used appliance sales are pretty steady thru the year, but refrigerators are big sellers in summer since so many go bad in the heat. This causes more used and NEW fridge sales, which is good for Encore, and for the recycling plants, since more NEW fridges bought at Sears, Montgomery Ward, etc., results in more old ones turned in to retailers for ARCI to recycle.

Since Q1 is really dead for new appliance sales overall, it would seem Q2 should be substantially better since the double-whammy of new appliance sales and lots of fridges konking out helps ARCI recycling fees jump, and helps Encore sell more used fridges, in addition to other appliances going out.
