One of my favorite attributes of Palm's handheld devices has always been
the Flash ROM in which the operating system and key applications of the
device are stored. When you drop a few hundred dollars on the sort of
product that's changing as frequently as handheld computers are, it's good
to have open as many avenues to upgrade as possible (a lack of Flash
ROM is the only real beef I have with Handspring's line of otherwise
expansion-friendly Visor handhelds).
