Joe, The L2 policy on T-Bird is strictly eviction-based, but there is nothing preventing the Palomino designers from supporting prefetching. It is not a huge change to add an extra datapath into the L2. Prefecthing into the L1 would be a really bad idea, because of timing and performance issues. Scumbria
