DRAM prices moved sharply higher overnight

DRAM prices moved sharply higher overnight, according to Fechtor Detwiler, an investment firm that provides pricing for the DRAM market to TheStreet.com. "While demand is characterized as good, traders report that the major factor in today's surge in prices was the tightening of availability to spot by the DRAM manufacturers," reports Fechtor Detwiler.

Prices for 128 megabit SDRAM moved up 70 cents, coming in at $5.00; prices for 64 Mb SDRAM were up 35 cents, coming in at $2.60.
