CSCO has been very clear about what they are doing from an accounting standpoint. Never tried to cloak anything under "pooling".

Same time, there were a lot of people who did not understand the meaning of what was presented. Clear, even on this thread, as you rightly pointed out.

So the situation is kind of like kids drinking bleach, despite the very large printed labels.

Of course, perhaps it would have been clearer if the labels said "Do not drink. Poison" instead of "Contains Chlorine".

Chemists will tell you that "Contains Chlorine" actually provides a more accurate description, and that smart people could figure out the implications themselves. Very true.

Same line of reasoning for "pooling". And you heard CSCO amongst the rest of the expert chemists in the industry.

I expect this topic will generate a lot of discussion in the postmortem analysis.
