What I have heard from experts in the rapid-protyping industry is that Stratasys technology may be able to make functional parts while stereolithography is unlikely to do so. However, the current market for the rapid-prototyping tools is in making moulds to make parts and not to directly make the parts.

There are several technologies in this field and it is not clear which one is going to win. 3-D systems is the smoothest running company. Currently, parts made from stereolithography are superior.

Helisys is the leaderin the laminated rapid-prototyping technology, hoever, revenue growth has slowed considerably in the last two quarters. Robert, do you know whether Helisys is still seriously in the race.

Another public company in this business is Soligen that licenses its technology from MIT. 3-D systems has recently come out with a machine that is very similar to the MIT 3-d printing technology.

DTM systems might be public soon.
