In the target segment, (Value Desk tops), PIII 1GHz/SDRAM would probably beat P4 1.3GHz/SDRAM. I doubt that Intel wants that comparison.

The AMD DDR benchmarks, as I remember, didn't show any significant difference on the basic apps (which all the bears love to use as "the benchmark") from SDRAM. The comparison is going to be ugly regardless.
