PRI Automation Announces Encore! Composer 3.0
Provides a powerful graphical environment for managing factory specifications of the various components in a CIM system; Serves as a powerful tool for managing migration from PROMIS to Encore! architecture
BILLERICA, Mass., March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- PRI Automation, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRIA - news), a global leader in semiconductor factory automation systems and software, today announced the release of the company's Encore!® Composer(TM) 3.0 software solution. Encore! Composer 3.0 provides a powerful graphical environment for defining, visualizing and managing factory specifications of the various components in a computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) system. The architecture of the Encore! framework provides the means to extend the models beyond the manufacturing execution system (MES) to capture additional data related to other CIM components of the factory. Composer, like other Encore! components, automatically adapts to object model extensions by the Framework.
The power of Encore! Composer is in its flexibility and configure-ability as a full-featured, object-oriented specification management application. The graphical user interface allows the user to create, edit, visualize and query all factory specifications. Composer also takes advantage of many of the Encore! framework components for handling persistency, version control, access control and extensibility to always provide a complete visualization of the MES implementation. Composer can be used in conjunction with a company's existing CIM applications, and offers automatic synchronized integration to the PROMIS MES application.

Encore! Composer simplifies the specification management process making it easier to effectively administer changes to an implementation of PRI's PROMIS MES or other MES system. New features, such as cross-referencing and complex searching capabilities, online help and system administration tools, and specification time parameter substitution, support the process of quickly finding and changing specifications dictated by business or production priorities. Additional capabilities include XML import, which allows users to bring new information into the system, export utilities, user-definable wizards and custom views, advanced security, and ActiveX scripting.
