It's more that I would require safety equipment.
I like bicycle helmet laws, and motorcycle helmet laws, and seatbelt laws. There need to be helmet requirements for scooters and skateboards- and perhaps age requirements for kids riding those things on public streets.
I would do away with laws against suicide if I could be assured people would actually kill themselves- but because people are inept and frequently just maim themselves I think we'll keep those in place.

I would not make any drugs illegal, but people driving cars impaired (including the morons who chatter on their car phones and put on make up) should really be gone after. Irresponsible car phone use is something that endangers anyone who drives the public highways and I want a CRACKDOWN on it. The elderly inept driver needs to be screened out more carefully. While I would not make cigarettes illegal I would like to see all props for the tobacco industry removed. I am fairly happy with the laws we have. I wouldn't implement too many more- although I would do the car phone thing and the scooter thing. I'm not interested in activities that kill or maim a very small number of people that are not economically significant. I am interested in them from a personal perspective, but not from a public health/public law perspective.
