"Our favorite stock right now in our portfolio is Smithfield Foods (SFD: Research, Estimates). They are a prime beneficiary of the problems in hoof-and-mouth disease," Veru said. "They are a domestic manufacturer. All the problems of hoof-and-mouth have been in Europe. You can't get on or off a Smithfield farm without very heavy precautions to protect the animals.
