Demand for bandwidth isn't going to go away- we just haven't reached the next tipping point. CB, the business model has to be solved first. Like I was saying about a year ago, as long as trash like NET ZERO is allowed to give away free Internet access it will be hard for legit competition to do much. We're starting to see the turn. Many websites are going under or becoming subscription based. The reality is Advertising is NOT going to power the web, but yet much of it still depends on this failing source of revenue. If the ISP's start to charge more, that doesn't do crap for the websites. Old economy can benefit by things like online sales, but they are being hammered margin wise by trash like Amazon right now. When the shakeout is done, ultimately everything will have to have a revenue and profit source. Unfortunately, we are far from solving this problem, but hopefully collapsing ad rates, the likes of Amazon going under, and dysfunctional KLEC's will speed the process. I'm already surprised how things have deteriorated in the Internet world in Internet speed.
