It looks like Worldcom's choice is quickly shifting from Nortel/ADC/VYYO to one of the OFDM suppliers.

"Next-generation systems will use orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) technology to bounce signals off cell sites and through walls and windows to perform better in heavily populated or densely wooded areas. “With NLOS, we think we can serve between 10 and 30 percent more customers within the same geographical footprint,” Brooks says.

As a result, NLOS technology could change fixed wireless from a default technology to a mainstay for any market. "
