One thing that both the Democratic and Republican politicians have in common: the need for polarization of the population to continue to justify their existence. Instead of sitting down and hashing out a plan that helps those who need it with their education, they posture and mudsling, then call on you and me to take sides. I'm frankly quite sick of it.

I did not vote for him, but one of the messages I liked from Bush was the 'uniter not divider'. I do not believe he has accomplished that so far, and in fact has made it harder on himself by immediately pissing off Democratic leadership with some of his early actions. Maybe he can turn it around.

If not, I'll continue to vote for 3rd party candidates as a means of protest, and to hopefully encourage some qualified candidates to buck the two party stranglehold.
