My concern on the short side is that I am quite sure now that the institutions are running in here to the rescue, on the long side. One has to deal with the reality that they can keep the market propped up long enough, until the fundamentals then change for the better a few months out, sending shares much higher.
We'll see, but there is commentary on this thread suggesting that this rally is bogus because it is a prop and I agree it is. However, imho, that makes it even more dangerous if the institutions are really as determined as they appear the last 3 days. They will win, eventually.
The confidence numbers just released are a good example. This should have caused a drop: NO intermeeting easing. Instead, at the cboe, they all the sudeen are saying, "oh yeah, this is good because we want some sign that things are improving now." Lots of manipulation and and it looks to me that this is getting serious.
