hi ed i hope my comment was a positive catalyst. you've taken a brave step there. now put ie6 beta with winxp beta2 and we're really hoping for a perfect world! touching back on our recent 'orphan' discussions, i see that ie6 beta will not run on win95. i experienced a bit of the 'orphan' syndrome when i attempted to put norton systemworks2001 on my older win95 machine and the install was halted by a pop up dialog saying nsw2001 would not run on w95. this got a rise out of me because w95 is listed on the front of the shrink wrapped carton as a compatible os. further investigation led me to discover that w95a was the only version that was incompatible. w95b is okay. i notice now that symantec is making that differentiation on the carton. fortunately i had nsw2000 available in my software library (that means i found the disk in one of the stacks of junk here in my home office), and it installed on w95 no prob. back to ie6 beta, this also looks interesting....
