espn.com had a nifty little java applet thing going on last season where for each game you tuned into, there was no audio but instead, a depiction of a baseball diamond with little baseball players that would get on base and advance according to how the game was played out. the batter was a picture of the guy's face, with a small stat box, and the balls and strike count.

the feed was about 30 seconds delayed (max) and i would often have two games going on the desktop hidden behind other stuff. it was quite adequate, in fact i enjoyed it a lot.

i don't know if they are doing it again this year. i'll look around.

are you familiar with what i'm talking about?

:)
