Pru got a hold on amd but their EE fit a potential upgrade

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD, Hold, 28.74). AMD is one of the only companies in
our universe that has not pre-announced its March quarter, due largely to the
success of its Athlon/Duron family of processors, in our opinion. While we
believe that the processor side of the business should continue to do quite well
given its compelling price/performance, we believe that there is some weakness
in flash memory (almost 40% of revenues), as AMD's flash business has
significant exposure to the communications end-market. We are maintaining our
March quarter revenue and EPS estimates of $1.13 billion and $0.36 EPS.
However, we are adjusting June quarter revenue and EPS estimates to $1.05
billion (down 7% QoQ) and $0.35, down from $1.16 billion and $0.36. Our full
year 2001 revenue and EPS estimates to $4.6 billion and $1.62 EPS, down from
$5.1 billion and $1.80. Our full year 2002 estimates are now $5.35 billion and
$1.90, down from $6 billion and $2.10. AMD is expected to report its March
quarter earnings after the close on Wednesday, April 18th.
