My impression of IBM is that they have great technology but are prone to "play it safe" rather than risk failure. OS/2 was a great OS and could have grabbed 1/2 the market if IBM quickly responded to make it WIN32 compatible and bothered to market it or actively invested in their Lotus division rather than treat it as a cash cow. I think their culture, except in their labs, is the antithesis of AMD's, where "betting the farm" happened twice in the last five years. If "playing it safe" is the IBM culture, its fine for their major profit center, which is service and systems support. Petz
