I tend to agree with you here.

And i took the cyrix ride myself.

Cyrix was in deep doodoo and had a crummy design.

IBM tried to bail them out with fab capacity.

Normally IBM would never have entertained an unstable company like cyrix.

To ensure they would get paid they had the right to resell 50% of the product.

Bottom line Cyrix designers and products sucked.

This became even more clear after National bought em.

They almost killed National with their crappy products.

And i suspect that VIA regretted buying them.

They basically fired all the cyrix folks or encouraged them to leave and bought the centaur folks.
