Good story, Patricia.

I had a similar, daily reminder. Our offices were on North First St in San Jose, the real heart of Silicon Valley. Right outside my second story window was a field that would occassionally be planted so that the owner could get some income while waiting for the property values to get even higher. I would see the workers out there toiling in the sun, and suddenly would feel very fortunate for a lot of things.

I believe if everyone took the time to count their blessings, they would whine less and be happier. Naive? Works for me.
