So the PUC decides a big rate increase is needed immediately. Governor Davis says he disagrees, but there is nothing he can do about it.... Right!

What an example of leadership in a crisis! Davis is noticeably missing every time the bad news comes out. The bad news comes through his aides. Where was he when the state said over the weekend that the tab for state purchased power is now estimated to be $23 billion before this is over?

This is the same leader who wore his windbreaker to every substation he could find a couple of months ago. That was when he was doing photo ops demonstrating the great progress he was making on long term supply contracts and new plants.

By the way, I side with the PUC. It's the governor's avoidance of the issues that irritate me. He wants the PUC to take the heat so he does not have to.
