I agree with most of your posts. However, you are too optimistic and Don is too pessimistic. SGI will survive. The question is will it be a worthwhile investment in the next 12 months or will it be better to stick to companies with a proven track record such as INTC, MSFT, IBM, DIS, KO, NIK, etc. I don't think that SGI shares should occupy a a major portion of any portfolio. Nonetheless, institutions seem to be picking up SGI shares daily. That is usually a good sign. Just look at IONA - the shares were being heavily bought by institutions in the last few weeks and today IONA jumped almost $7.
