absolutely. could happen anytime imo. the strains in the global financial bubble system (GFBS...new acronym for future reference) are building at an astonishing pace, especially on the periphery. Turkey, Argentina, Brazil are the current flash-points, with Turkey demanding Western help, "and make it snappy please" to put the brakes on the ongoing collapse there, and Argentina's currency board a hair's breadth from being forcibly abandoned as interest rates on Argentine dollar bonds soar...the Brazilian real meanwhile is in free-fall (contagion) forcing rates higher in Brazil as well. in Asia, the dominoes are just waiting to topple again...a side effect of the Yen-dive.
'98 has the potential to become known by the nick-name 'walk in the park'.
