well the t34 and the kv models took the germans quite by surprise.... at the time the germans had nothing with the guns and armor matching those russian models.

the germans had 3-man turrets though, and better radios, and grouped their tanks together while the russians deployed piecemeal.... but still the t34 in particular was quite a shock.

my favorites were the bt5 and bt7 series (bt5 had a 45mm AT gun and the bt7 had a short 76mm infantry support (HE) gun).

the BT series was very thinly armored, but it was extremely fast as tanks go.

i almost can't wait until battlefront.com comes out with combat mission 2 so i can play with large formations of BT tanks.
