Instead of underselling Cyrix with their half, IBM could have sold all the wafers to Cyrix and let Cyrix make money off them.

I thought that Cyrix traded wafers for foundry services (ie...they didn't have the money) That alone indicates
some good will on IBM's part. I doubt any other foundry would have entered into such an agreement in the first place. But now you claim IBM should have sold the wafers back to Cyrix?? At cost?? Below cost?? Where did Cyrix all of a sudden get the money from?? This whole scenario is just so bizarre. So we have a company which enters into an agreement, the result of which, they are put out of business by the sale of their own product by a second company?. What a bunch of morons. Were you in on the deal? Not that I believe this or at least half of the swill you spew out on these threads. You don't have the contract by which the agreement was made and neither do I. Common sense says IBM would not enter into an agreement which would leave them holding the bag full of a bunch of quickly depreciating slow selling processors. And apparently, they didn't. Sounds like Cyrix bet their wad and lost. It happens often in business. If they had a better product, it likely would have been different. Sounds like you were left holding a bag of worthless Cyrix options. Seems to be a pattern here?
