It is tragic, and I hate to see anybody lose money. However, the etys shareholders have no one to blame but themselves. In December of 1999, I and others tried to argue the lack of a sustainable business model. No one here would have anything of it. The lesson in all of this is that revenues matter. PErhaps the second wave of internet businesses will have real business plans, and real leaders at the helm. Unfortunately, the startup funding will be hard to come by.
