Scumbria - RE: SPEC

Guess which processor currently has the second, to the 833MHz Alpha, highest SPECint2000 score?

Yup, the 1.33GHz Athlon. It has a higher peak SPECint2000 score than the 1.5GHz P4, even though some integer units of this P4 run at 3GHz.

The 1.33GHz Athlon is faster than the 1.3GHz P4 in base and peak.

Now here comes the dilemma - if the P4 is supposed to be faster on "modern" code, and the Athlon is faster than the P4 at the same clock speed, does that make SPECint2000 a "legacy" benchmark?

Maybe Elmer would know. ;)

P4 is still king to the Athlon in SPECfp.
