Probably got the story wrong, but I thought several years ago someone hit a sure home run only to have it collide with a seagull or pigeon and remain in play. I did witness several non attentive fans at baseball games get beaned by foul balls. One was the wife of one of the Cardinal owners. Took her off on a stretcher.
