That means the Athlon is faster in integer calculations under peak, optimal conditions AND while running unoptimized code (today's benchmarks). Looks like the best of both worlds to me. Not bad for a processor whose speed is 44% of the P4's fastest integer units.

Tell that to Intel. Their website only shows peak scores under processor performance. intel.com

I find it ironic you're telling me to look at the standardized SPECint score to compare processors rather than the peak, optimal score when in the past you advocated comparing PIII and Athlon scores using different compilers as opposed to the same compiler that would standardize the results.
