Tony, re: I wonder what the average processor speed is. I wonder the same. That would be an important number to determine a future upgrade cycle. re: I can vouch for the fact that W2K is a dog with 64 MB. If Microsoft recommends 300 MHz and 128 MB, better double both. I'm hoping that Windows XP has some compelling features, and is introduced with the same marketing hoopla that Microsoft used to do so well in the past. I don't think that the increased stability alone will prompt widespread upgrades, despite the complaints about existing Windows OS. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, XP it can't hurt. John
