David Horowitz shows the danger of supressing the teachings of evolution (as well as logic). His whole premise rests on the idea that slavery was necessary for the cotton economy of the South, and therefore led in steps some benefits including independance and opportunity. He really misses the point that given a demand for cotton (which there was) some lucrative way of growing it would have been found, probably lots of small farmers instead of large plantations. Even a rudementary understanding of the attractiveness of an unfilled niche would make this obvious. The rest of his ramblings are built upon this false foundation. Your party has been taken over by the stupid.
