AMD has increased the clock speed of K7 by >100% since it's intro. They have added an L2 cache and switched from slot to socket. They have created market differentiation with Duron, and have had no significant bugs released.

I consider that to be nearly perfect execution. Compare vs. Intel.

You seems to forget all the infrastructure lags, and all the false promess for Ruiz and Jerry... here is a blattant lie from Jerry :

We're ahead of schedule. On March 6 of this year, AMD established a new industry milestone with the introduction of the world's first 1-GHz processor. Our new roadmap implies a 1.5-GHz processor in January of 2001. Today, with the introduction of 950- and 900-MHz versions of the AMD Athlon processor, AMD offers the industry's broadest range of high-performance PC processors.

Add the 5 phantom cpu of Ruiz and also the roadmap change between MS Dean Witter and March 19th.

Delay on CPU aren't really delays, they are rather just adjustments to P4's poor performance. But delays on infrastructure side should have been fixed by the time. No! again another delay in the portable infrastructure so we have : 750 delay, KX133 delay, socket A delay (kt133 & 750), 760 & ALi Magik delay, kt266 delay, Powernow delay

That is no perfect managment IMO. AMD should contract mobo firms to mass produce some 100's of K of their reference boards before each launches.
