I heard Santoro say this during the question and answer period in a panel discussion on Wireless Web Solutions. He was quite definate about going to 1X with an overlay but provided no date for deployment. They next day I heard and AT&T exec give a quite spirited defence of AT&T plans to deploy EDGE. Its still full speed ahead with EDGE so far as AT&T wireless is concerned.
