Triton Network Systems Secures Multi-Million Dollar Purchase Order From Broadband Communications Services Provider

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 2001--

Triton's Invisible Fiber Products to Extend Fiber Backbone

Triton Network Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:TNSI), a supplier of broadband, high-speed carrier-grade network fixed wireless products, today announced the receipt of a purchase order totaling in excess of $5 million to supply Invisible Fiber(R) broadband fixed wireless products to a major telecommunications service provider. This service provider initially ordered more than 50 radios at the end of 2000 following the signing of a multi-year sales contract. This additional purchase order includes Invisible Fiber unit (IFUs) radios in the 28 GHz and 38 GHz radio frequency bands. Shipments under this order began earlier this quarter and should be fulfilled by the end of the second quarter.

"This key customer is extremely important to our strategic business plan. We are pleased to be working with an industry leader that is building a nationwide carrier class network," said Skip Speaks, president and chief executive officer of Triton Network Systems. "This significant follow-on order will place our Invisible Fiber Units in more cities throughout the nation as our customer rolls out their broadband network and delivers carrier class bandwidth to their on-net business accounts."

Triton Network Systems' Invisible Fiber units are currently deployed in consecutive point networks in many cities such as Boston, Los Angeles, Washington D. C., Dallas and Tokyo. With this order, Triton will see deployments in several additional cities above the thirty-one markets currently deployed worldwide.
