The "under God" part always irked me when we said the Pledge in school. Yes, I recall our discussing that. The reason I looked up the history was because one of the RWEs posted the there was a move afoot by the "secular liberals" to take the "under God" back out. I haven't been able to verify that and it seems unlikely in this climate. I had forgotten that it was the Knights of Columbus that got that language added in the first place but I clearly remember when it happened. The author seems like an interesting guy. Karen
