1. X-box needs a cool chip. Passive cooling. .13u will run cooler. OTOH, I've been told .18u 733 runs pretty cool with just a heat sink.
2. Intel sold out to Microsoft to get the contract. Maybe less than $30 a chip. .13u is cheaper to make. Intel may have figured that into their price.
3. A waste? sure it is but Intel wanted the X-box.
