3Com does not have any Palm shares as far as I know. And it is carefully preserving its remaining cash, not even buying back its own shares, which sell for about half book value -- as opposed to Palm which is still more than 4 times book even at $8 per share. Be careful with Palm. Lots of competition, weak internet services and licensing steam -- maybe they are giving Palm OS away, perhaps because it's not worth that much compared to Microsoft's revamped pocket PC. Its book value is $2. That's a good place to buy for a value investor, IMO. In a generalized market panic, which may come later this year, it is not improbable that it will get there.
