You will get used to the Windows XP copy protection scheme

I think I'll stick with Win98SE. I don't like the idea of having to check with Microsoft everytime I make a change on my computer, or not being able to use the operating system I paid for on a new computer after I wipe the old one.

The short-term benefit to MSFT is that they will earn more money at places, where piracy has been usual. The long-term benefit will be that they can deliver software via the internet.

Serious pirates will probably be able to hack the copy protection scheme. People like me will delay upgradeing. As for using software as a serivce sold over the internet, I would only consider getting my software this way if there is no other alternative, or if it is dirt cheap.
