Well, part of the problem is that the "creative" work on the social democratic Left has been trying to envision the "social market", which would combine the advantages of the market in terms of efficiency and growth, but would be under "democratic control", another crack at "Third Way" socialism. The problem is that Sweden, in this view, is too capitalist, and Israel too socialist, and no one knows what would come in the middle. Anyway, it is sliced awfully thin.....
