Gary,

To answer your question, AT&T connects just fine at 28.8 (cost is $19.95 a month unlimited time). I am using it right now on the 5 free hours a month deal. I use a local ISP for $15 a month, connect at 28.8 or 26.6, never had a busy signal.

Once people get educated a little, they will move off of America Online. There is this scenario though: A friend was using Prodigy. I said he would be better off with a local ISP. He said, well I don't use it that much, anyway. I said that your usage habits would change if you had unlimited connect time for a fixed fee. Compare your use of long distance with local calls. If local was metered, your usage would plummet. Now that I have a connection for a fixed fee, I let my five children use the internet (great for homework, internet games, etc.) which I never did with metered AOL.

Incidentally my put is very modest, a January put @ $1 9/16, strike price 27 1/2 (2 contracts). As you can see I am very bearish on AOL.
I have a number of puts on other stock that are not going anywhere...yet!

Rick
