I have not felt demeaned in any way by your posts. I just felt I should qualify the terms a bit. In many ways I think the same problem exists for the word Liberal as it does for Fundamentalist. Liberal is a wonderful word if you take it to mean generous and open minded, and fundamentalist when it refers to someone who emphasizes the basics, and attention to details is an equally a desirable trait.

Franky Schaeffer is the son of Francis, and he did convert to Orthodoxy. Francis Schaeffer's works are definitely worth a read, especially the three that constitute the basis of all his other writings. They are "The God who is there" "Escape from Reason" and "He Is There, and He Is Not Silent" EDIT I found He IS There, and He Is Not Silent to be particularly helpful.
