hi patrick "the opinion is that the dual environment is unstable. I don't know if you ever considered that possibility" i never have, no. perhaps because i don't run dual processors, i haven't been terribly interested in the nuances of that arrangement. "Thanks for all your help in the past" we try "The AMD machines have been running without a hitch for awhile and so it seems that I shall not trouble you any longer" that's good news about the AMD chips. and i never considered you to be a bother! :) mark
