I am consoled by the fact that csco paid for my home totally.(no mortgage). No one can tell me not to get emotionally involved with a stock or company.Every day I look at the walls of my house and I say "thank you cisco".

People like yourself are the reason the economy and real estate market are about to take a nosedive. The "wealth effect" has been written about many times and soon the "reverse wealth effect" is going to be written about. You're not alone, tons of people have been living off the market. What happens when this income doesn't exist? I find it hard to believe that everyone was as prudent as you buying a house with CASH and not being on margin [assuming you don't play with margin].

I'm not slamming you one bit. It's very smart to book profits along the way and take care of your mortgage, etc.

I'm simply pointing out that the stock market has become a key driver of the economy and now the reverse has happened. What I find so hard to believe is the mainstream attitude is the economy isn't that bad and that the stock market downturn will not materially effect the economy. IMVHO, this couldn't be farther from the truth.
