You make my point exactly, sir, when you say the following:
"the SMART ones like myself can spot a loser by looking at the stock price and save ourselves COUNTLESS HOURS of research. I haven't read FIBR SEC filings or called the company. All I have done is look at a few press releases, charts, stock action etc. (and read part of this thread)."

Your lack of research makes you a momentum player. It'd be really interesting to get a well-defined analysis of how such players stack up against those who really understand the industry and players in their sector. And if you say, "but I DO understand the networking sector," well then I think once again you should amend your description of your investment strategy.

As for dogs, you think anyone was a bull for Apple or even Silicon Graphics with the Wintel platform screaming along? You don't think that the majority of SI investors would consider those dogs? And are you currently shorting FIBR?

My counter example to your philosophy would be a stock like AOL. It is performing well after a big hit earlier. Yet, to me, it is a long-term short. Likewise, Netscape does not live up to its market cap. I would think seriously of shorting either/both of them once my surer pick of WDC has its run-up.
