Well, I believe for the reasons I outlined in the other posts. Do you really think that giving 'only' $10K to a candidate limits your individual rights? Seems like you could run a pretty good campaign on those type of donations, and then not be indebted to special interests.

I think if you don't have some limits, the candidates end up spending most of their time making deals to get the money needed to win. Some of the 2000 election races spent HUGE amounts of money. If it is not too much now, when WILL it be too much?
