GI - imho Vod is going to put a lot of pressure on VZ to stop a move to cdma2000 at all costs. It may even include having to buy out what it doesn't own in VZ.

My guess is that there will be massive pressure from the Finns to get the EU to presssure the Brits and thereby VOD.

Even we on this thread saw the reaction when we thought VZ had finally and definately gone cdma2000 and you can just imagine the liquid fear that went through NOK. Forget about Europe the cdma2000 battle is going to be fought right here in the US not in China not anywhere else.

If VZ had finally committed it is clear that cdma2000 would be deployed across the US by at least three major carriers and all the handest makers and software makes would have had to have been producing mass cdma2000 product well before w-cdma and you may then have had capitulations in one or two EU coutries.

NOK will fight this to the bitter end and they look like they can control not only Europe but now also the US! QCOM better get going and fast in Congress and elsewhere.

Best regards,

L
