I heard that VOD may want VZ to rip out the CDMA infrastructure, replace it with GSM, install EDGE, upgrade to iDEN, and later install WCDMA. Oh yeah, AWE is the only company stupid enough to go to such great lengths to avoid acknowledging QCOM's IPR for CDMA. VZ has no choice but to upgrade to CDMA2000 for it's existing spectrum. If they choose to go with WCDMA for new 5 MHZ spectrum, God bless them. Since WCDMA and CDMA2000 are fully integrated with QCOM's new chips, what the heck is the difference.
