Bernkea, why are getting it all wrong??

I know KO was bought way back, but what is the point in holding on to a stock that has fully appreciated and trades at very high valuation??

Now you will counter with the tax liability issue which was used for example, by those not selling their CSCO in the $70 to $80 range .......... are they better off now?? than paying around $10 in taxes for those holding CSCO for over 2 years ???

Always it is time to buy and time to sell even for long term holders. On can argue that if your Muppett was holding on to his Solomon Bros. shares he would had a substantial gain (see C chart). But he sold early. That what makes markets.

My point is that even if he is a good investor he is very far from the claim he is trying to label himself. fact is the SPX returned same over the last 5 years so were is the investment genius he likes to attribute to himself??

His statement that AG has the right monetary policy only indicates how clueless he is. (I posted my opinion on the FED on SI ...... the FED erred since summer 1998 ........... all the way.) IMHO Muppett is just an arrogant ego centric midwestern guy that's all. There are many individuals who just bought an SPX fund and outperformed Muppett, not to speak of others.
