Before I answer bonnie, I do want to say that I think the few on this board who still go out of there way to attack Tom should give it up. You know, when NEWP is down, or RMBS crashes, etc. Just mho. Your post goes further than I have thought on this subject. Threads do develop a culture I guess and, like you say, that results in some boundaries that the culture will protect. The porch espouses certain values about life in general that I agree with. You know, reduce stress, love, remember what's important in life -- these are all good and right things imo. However, to transfer these values into the world of investing or trading is just confusion. To use an example, the notion that one reduces stress by not looking at the screen for days at a time is a bizarre concept and strikes me as plain harmful advice. It's a form a denial. Doesn't matter what I think anyway. If they are as happy as they say they are, then all power to them -ng
